John Wilson
A civil engineer, John’s passion for building and construction spans a lifetime. In his native United Kingdom, he first focused on road construction before steering his career towards property development. Once in South Africa, he forged ahead with residential and commercial projects that steadily increased in scale.
James Wilson
James trained as a chartered accountant but shares his father’s passion for property. His entrepreneurial drive and strategic vision have been instrumental in steering the Amdec Group from a small family enterprise to an organisation with international reach and a multidisciplinary workforce.
The Amdec Group Services
Based in Cape Town, the Amdec Group Services team supports our global real estate investments with specialised services that include marketing, technology, finances, talent management (human resources), legal and company secretarial and hospitality among others. Retaining these services within the company represents another way in which we keep the inclusive family values on which our organisation is built, alive.
Amdec Property Development
The Amdec Group’s iconic mixed-use and inclusionary housing projects are conceived, developed and project managed by Amdec Property Developments, comprising Amdec Commercial Developments, which takes care of concept design, finance, sales, marketing, and conveyancing; and Amdec Construction Management which handles all aspects of project delivery including design development, professional appointments, contract procurement, and post-completion handover.

Amdec Property Services deliver asset and property management services to our mixed-use and inclusionary housing divisions. The team, based at Melrose Arch in Johannesburg, ensures the smooth running and day-to-day operation, security, parking management, maintenance, marketing, and leasing of our award-winning developments.

Evergreen Retirement Holdings develops, owns and operates retirement villages throughout South Africa. The holding company is underpinned by 2 core businesses: Evergreen Property Investments, which builds and creates superb retirement villages across the country; and Evergreen Lifestyle Villages, which operates existing villages, providing world-class service, hospitality, and healthcare to thousands of retirees.
